Topic: Fighting the good fight of faith
Texts: 1 Timothy 6:12, 1 Cor 4:7, Eph 6:12-17, 1 Peter 5:8, Heb 11:6, 2 Cor 2:10, 10:5
Sermon: He said Christians don't fight for God, but rather God fights for them. Fight of faith does not involves guns, machetes and other physical weapons. He stated the ingredients of a good fight as follows;
- at least two fiercely opposing forces that want to prevail against each other
- there must be strong reason for the fight
- there must be weapons of warfare
- battle field for the fight
The battle has been won already by Christ Jesus, but you fight to get delivery of all the Lord has done for you. He urges Christians to be bold, strong and courageous for the battle is not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers operating in high places. More so, he told the congregation to meditate and go deeper into the Word of God, wear the full armor of God that the battle is in your 'mind'.
