According to the head of communication and public affairs,NDIC, Habi Bichi, " the fire incident occurred this morning but fortunately, no life was lost and important documents not destroyed". “The NDIC has temporarily relocated from Mamman Kontagura House to NECOM House at 15 Marina, Lagos.” Dignitaries that visited the site described the incident as "very unfortunate".
The statement said the management thanked the general public, Lagos State Fire Service, and Nigerian Ports Authority for their support during the incident
