Raheem Sterling: Most expensive English player ever

The forward move to Manchester City has made him become the most expensive English player ever and he  is under contract until 2017, but turned down a new £100,000-a-week deal at Liverpool.
Manchester City appear to have finally got their man after Brendan Rodgers’ side reluctantly accepted a bid believed to be around £49m for the England international. The transfer is subject to contract negotiations and a medical.
He was left out of Liverpool’s squad which flew out on Sunday for their pre-season tour of Thailand as talks over the big-money switch progressed.
